Our holiday in Mozambique {Ponta d'Ouro}

So we've mentioned in many a post how we'd been planning our Mozambique holiday for most of the second half of last year... and then at the end of December it came and went - and it was INCREDIBLE! Scroll down for some pics of the beach, the shopping, the scenery, the restaurants, and New Year's Eve. Ponta d'Ouro is one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen... and there was nothing more relaxing than being away for a week from the internet, cellphone signal and TV's. We did too much relaxing, too much tanning and lots of swimming - and it was one of our best holidays yet!

We'd love to be back there right now sipping R & R's on the beach... but alas, for now these photos will have to do. Enjoy!

  2. Wow, it looks like ya'll had an awesome time :). Great photos. Any travel tips and advice for some of us who may want to go there? And which places would you recommend one to see and where to stay?

  3. @Claire - Agreed! What an amazing time!!

    @Nomfundo - Yes, we had such a lovely time! We have plenty of tips! First off, you can't get to Ponta without a 4x4. So if you're planning on taking a car over, make sure it's 4x4. If you don't have a 4x4, you can leave your car on the S.A side of the border for R80 a day and hire someone to drive you into Ponto (search on google).

    We stayed in fantastic, very reasonably priced accommodation called Woza o'Hlala (www.pontastay.co.za).

    Ponta is very small, so if you stay there for 5-7 days you will be able to pretty much visit everything. We loved Pinto's Beach Bar, Love Cafe and had so much fun swimming with dolphins at Somente Aqua.

    Hope that helps!
