Today we are introducing a super exciting new series on the blog, where we will be sharing lots of amazing tips on how to start your own creative business. But it's a series with a difference! We have teamed up with 7 other South African women who already run their own creative businesses (and blogs), and together we are going to bring you a hugely exciting, daily blog collaboration series. Together, we'll be delving into nine different topics and sharing tips about doing what we love!
Are you excited? 'Cause we are!
If you dream of starting your own creative business, but have no idea about where to begin, just remember that we were in the exact same positions that you are in - and now we are going to give you tips on how to get started!
We started Ruby+Swallow in 2012, and looking back, it has been one of the most exciting times of our lives - with so many learning curves along the way. Ruby+Swallow started as both a business and a blog, and we are so proud of where we are now. We are by no means experts... and while we do have a lot of 'tips' to share that we've learnt through our journey, we are still very humbled by the fact that there is still SO much to learn in running a business.
The line up of bloggers for the series is below:
Monday, 18th November
Caitlyn de Beer will answer the question, ‘What’s the most important question to ask yourself before starting your own business’
Thursday, 28th November
Nicola will be writing on
‘Creative or Critic: Who’s driving your business venture?’

The lovely
Caitlyn de Beer is the blogger who organised this collaboration, and we're so glad she thought of us to be a part of this series! She started her own business a year ago, and is a life coach who is passionate about getting people to step out of their comfort zones and actively pursue their dream jobs. Her aim is for this series to spark that dream in your hearts again - and we do hope that it does! In her words..."Expect to be challenged, inspired and motivated to get going with creating your dream job!". Visit
Caitlyn's blog to read her ten reasons for following our collaborative series.
Lastly - join us for the next two weeks as we get stuck in to this topic!
